Boogie Woogie Puppet Theatre - A Journey Story

The curtain rises with puppets on the first day of the November school break! Trombon and the Assistant set off on a musical journey in pursuit of a runaway note, on Saturday, 15 November 04.00 PM at Tersane Istanbul Glass Hall. An interactive puppet show about overcoming the fear of making mistakes through love, solidarity and courage.

About the Play

Trombon, Trombolina and the Assistant are a travelling theatre troupe who perform together. Trombolina, the star of the show, cannot stand mistakes being made on stage, which has dampened Trombon and the Assistant's spirits.

One of Trombon's notes can no longer put up with the situation and decides to run away one night while Trombon is asleep. Trombon and the Assistant set out to find the missing note, heading to their old friend Troti, an instrument repairer. Thus begins an adventure that will take them to many different places and introduce them to new friends.

Blending puppet theatre, non-verbal comedy, dance and music, A Journey Story invites children to become part of the play through rhythm exercises, music, movement and playful interaction. In a language children can relate to, the play shows that making mistakes is a natural part of learning.

Themes of the Play

Fear of making mistakes: The idea that making mistakes is a natural part of learning and gaining experience.

Love and compassion: The importance of approaching ourselves and those around us with love.

Friendship and solidarity: The value of supporting one another and acting together.

Helping one another: The importance of looking for solutions together and asking for help when needed.

Courage: Taking a step forward despite fear and being open to new experiences.

The rhythm exercises and interactions throughout the play aim to support children's problem-solving, imitation and musical skills, while contributing to the development of their aesthetic and artistic awareness.
